Children In Need, Inc. is hiring a Warehouse Coordinator.

The Warehouse Coordinator for Children In Need, Inc. (CIN) reports to the Executive Director. This position is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Children in Need warehouse. The Warehouse Coordinator will supervise volunteers as well as support the Executive Director/Director of Client and Volunteer Services to provide exemplary service to our clients.

General Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the CORE Values of Children In Need (Kindness/Respect/Compassion/Teamwork)
  • Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. volunteers, customers, and partners).
  • Implement the business plan for the warehouse by communicating goals and managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties and coordinating workloads in order to achieve organizational goals (e.g., production, quality, safety).
  • Monitor and manage productivity of the warehouse by reviewing and/or analyzing donated item flow.
  • Support and/or facilitate donation collections and transporting donations to the CIN Center.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility by ensuring volunteers are trained on organization’s policies, standards and procedures; monitoring volunteer compliance to policies and procedures; distributing and maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Identify volunteer, customer, and/or partner concerns by listening, consulting with others when necessary to determine corrective action to take or make recommendations in order to resolve.
  • Supervise and develop volunteers by assigning duties and coordinating workloads, monitoring performance and providing feedback; teaching, supporting and modeling organizational policies and procedures; identifying training and development needs; and participating in the recruiting, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of volunteers.
  • Standardize and maintain housekeeping expectations throughout the warehouse and parking lot.  Keep warehouse and parking lot areas neat, clean and safe at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicants must pass a background check and driving record check.
  • Be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance and in a non-climate-controlled workspace.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse and vulnerable populations that are affected by issues including economic hardships, neglect, child abuse, domestic violence, mental health and substance abuse.
  • Logistics, distribution, transportation or related experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to give corrective feedback in a respectful manner.
  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.50 an hour
