“I am excited for the opportunity to lead an organization that improves the lives of so many children in our community,” said Brittany Wedd. “As Washington County continues to experience economic hardships associated with the rising costs of living, Children in Need remains steadfast in its commitment to respond and meet the rising needs of local children. I look forward to working alongside the agency’s volunteers, board members, and community partners to expand the meaningful impact that Children in Need has on our community.”
Brittany and her husband reside in Clear Spring, MD. She is an active board member and volunteer with both the Washington County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Ladders to Leaders. Brittany’s hiring follows the recent retirement announcement of Anne Martin who has played an integral role in shaping the mission of Children in Need over the last 20 years.
“We are thrilled to have Brittany as the Executive Director at Children in Need. She cares deeply about the community and passionately believes in the organization’s goal of providing Washington County children with the resources needed to learn, grow, and feel a positive sense of belonging,” said Matt South, President, Board of Directors at Children in Need.
