Children In Need, Inc. is hiring a Director of Client and Volunteer Services.

The Director of Client and Volunteer Services for Children In Need, Inc. (CIN) reports to the Executive Director. This individual would be responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of CIN’s Client Services programming, which includes client management, relationship building, and ensuring that the program’s direction adheres to CIN’s core values. Additionally, the Director of Client and Volunteer Services would be responsible for the management of CIN’s volunteer program, including supervision, comprehensive program recruitment practices, screening, orientation, training, record keeping, and evaluation.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1)  Client Services: Works with the Executive Director to establish program direction for client services that supports the organization’s mission and adheres to the CORE Values.

    • Responsible for maintaining positive relationships with clients, ensuring that CIN’s volunteers and staff provide the highest quality services for clients.
    • Administer operational aspects of the program including execution of long- and short-term goals and plans.
    • Assist clients and community agencies in receiving services through CIN’s programs, including the Extended Services program.
    • Assess clients and gather relevant information pertaining to their registration for CIN’s programs.
    • Provide information and support to clients and their families.
    • Refer clients to other agencies for services not provided by CIN.
    • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for the Executive Director and Board.
    • Address client concerns and suggestions while maintaining constant communication with the volunteer and staff teams.
    • Build rapport with clients and their families.
    • Provide client mediation as needed.

2)  Volunteer Management: Overall responsibility for volunteer management, including all functions of the volunteer program.

    • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, training, scheduling, evaluating and supervising volunteers and volunteer groups for Children In Need, Inc.
    • Responsible for assessing and responding to the needs of the organization to provide volunteers with appropriate training and experience to meet the needs of clients.
    • Develops relationships with and partners with the local community to showcase volunteer opportunities that will develop into a sustainable volunteer program for the organization.
    • Assures a high-quality work environment for volunteers and staff, and promotes the organization’s CORE Values of Kindness, Respect, Compassion, and Teamwork.
    • Provides mentoring and counseling of volunteers as needed.
    • Responsible for participation on appropriate committees and professional organizations.
    • Maintains records of volunteer service contributions.
    • Oversees implementation of volunteer recognition activities and events.

3) Operations: Works with the Executive Director to oversee operations of the organization as appropriate.

    • Ensures that client areas are filled with clothing, shoes, school supplies and more.
    • Ensures that the client and volunteer areas are kept organized and safe.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Reports to and works closely with the Executive Director on client and volunteer policy decisions to ensure that the programs embody the organization’s mission and CORE Values.
    • Provides monthly recaps of purchasing, inventory, and statistics (demographics, client visits, year-end results, etc.)
    • Represents Children In Need’s best interests to the organization’s constituents, the media, and the public.
    • Establishes and maintains relationships with various organizations and utilizes those relationships to strategically enhance Children In Need’s mission.
    • Participates in social media, marketing, and other communication efforts.
    • Writes and implements volunteer policies and procedures for all functions for the day-to-day operations of the nonprofit.
    • Purchases toiletries and other items as needed while adhering to the organization’s budget.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in one of the following majors: Human Resources, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or Business.
    • Experience working with culturally diverse and vulnerable populations that are affected by issues including economic hardships, neglect, child abuse, domestic violence, mental health, and substance abuse.
    • Demonstrated leadership qualities, human relations skills, conflict management, decision making ability, and ability to generate new ideas and innovations.
    • Volunteer management experience is required, preferably with a social service agency.
    • High-level strategic thinking and planning.
    • Public speaking ability with strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Must possess effective skills in organization, communications, and ability to manage people.
    • Effective interviewing technique, excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.
    • Must pass a background check.

Pay: $50,000.00 per year
